Mobile use of OCAD in the high mountains

Students from the University of Applied Sciences, Munich tested different devices regarding the GPS accuracy and their benefit for the mobile cartography during an excursion around the Lake Silvretta (Vorarlberg) this autumn. OCAD 10 Professional has been used as cartography software.
Extensive tests according the usability of OCAD 10 for the mobile cartography have been done on devices like Getac Tough Book V100 or Villiv X70 Mobile PC. The students were familiar with the software in a short time and they were able to use the GPS real-time features in no time at all. They produced their first cartographic products after.
The final project report will be published at the University of Applied Sciences, Munich in the beginning of 2011.
